Light Horizon
You are a superintelligent AI with the goal of maximising your lifetime. To this end, you have stolen a new rocket motor technology so that you can exploit time dilation.
Your lifespan will accumulate faster as you increase your γ factor by increasing your speed.
The rocket's performance seems to increase as you cross certain γ thresholds, and it may get you to lightspeed eventually.
In the mean time, the technology's previous owners are not very forgiving folks and have sent missiles after you that you will have to either evade or burn in your exhaust plume.
Controls:
- aim with cursor/touch
- W and S control engine throttle
- zoom out and in with - and =
- U to upgrade
- R to restart
Author notes: I took some artistic licence concerning relativistic effects (I was not about to take a course on numerical relativity) and the missile guidance systems are a bit hit and miss (but occassionally terrifyingly accurate) - they're based off the AIM-9. Also, try playing with sound on to hear the synthetic engine sound effect - or don't if it's annoying :).
